In Madman, Madman Marz is a lumbering, masked killer stalking unsuspecting campers in the woods, blending brute force with the eerie mythology surrounding his legend. This portrait captures him mid-stalk, mask shadowed and axe in hand, evoking the fear and tension that define his story. The muted forest tones and murky textures echo the film’s 80s slasher vibe, pulling the viewer into a rural nightmare where legend and murder collide.

Behind This Artwork:

I wanted to capture the tension and raw energy that makes Madman Marz so iconic — a figure both monstrous and mythic. Painting him felt like stepping into a forest at night, where every shadow hides the unknown. Even if Madman isn’t widely known, Marz’s looming presence has earned him a permanent place in cult horror memory.
